Earning your own money should feel exciting, not scary. This is the long version of the safety rules you accepted at signup — read it once and the right moves become automatic. (Short version: Stay safe on Leadly.)
1. You never pay to get a job. No deposit, no training fee, no starter kit, no "send money and we'll hire you." A real job pays you.
2. You never share sensitive details to apply. No bank logins, no Social Security or ID numbers, no passwords — nobody legitimate needs those before you've been hired, met them, and verified who they are.
Read the whole post. Real jobs describe real tasks with realistic pay — "$500 for easy work, no experience" is a red flag, not a jackpot. Check that the poster's name looks real and the location makes sense for you. If you're under 18, tell a parent or guardian about the job and where it is — you confirm exactly that when you apply, so make it true.
Keep every conversation in Leadly's messaging. Anyone who immediately pushes you to WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or text is removing the record — that's what scammers do, and Leadly will warn you when a message looks like that. Ask normal questions: what exactly is the work, when, where, and what's the pay? Vague or evasive answers mean walk away.
First meetings: public place, daytime, never alone — bring a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, especially for a new employer. Make sure someone always knows where you are, who you're with, and when you'll be done, and keep your phone charged and on you. Agree on pay before you start ("$15 to walk Max for 30 minutes" beats "we'll figure it out").
On the job you always keep the right to leave. If a situation turns unsafe, uncomfortable, or different from what was posted — an adult acting inappropriately, being pressured to do blocked or dangerous work, being asked to keep secrets — leave, tell a parent or guardian, and report it.
Behind the scenes: unsafe job categories are blocked for everyone, every post is screened before publishing, messages are checked for scam patterns, reports from 3 people auto-hide a post, and human moderators ban bad accounts. What no app can do: verify that a stranger is who they say they are, or be in the room with you. The rules above cover the part that's yours.
In immediate danger → call 911 (US and Canada) first. Otherwise: stop replying, tell a parent or guardian, report the job with the Report button, and for anything else contact [email protected] — reports involving minors get priority. You'll never be in trouble with Leadly for reporting something in good faith.
