Pay, currencies, and avoiding payment scams

How pay works on Leadly: employers post in USD or CAD, what the pay types mean, and the payment red flags that should make you stop and report.

How pay is shown

Employers post pay in their own currency — US dollars ($) or Canadian dollars (CA$) — and you see each job in the currency it was posted in.

Pay can be hourly, fixed, or negotiable; the listing shows which.

Payment red flags

Legitimate employers never ask you to pay a deposit, a training fee, or a starter-kit cost — anyone asking you to send money first is a scam.

Never accept payment by gift cards, wire transfer, or crypto, and never 'deposit a check and send back the difference' — that's a classic overpayment scam.

Leadly warns you automatically when a message matches these patterns; trust the warning.
